Eggplant, the Health's Plan

In this occasion I'll give the other information about nutritious plant called eggplant. I do really consume it when I was in highschool. The taste is so good either. Here I want to share not only the benefits, but also its history.

Eggplant (Solanum melongena L.)  is a tropical plant which grows originally from Asia, India and Burma. Then it's distributed to China in the 5th century which is also distributed to Caribia, Mid Africa, East Africa, Wesat Africa, South America, and the others tropical region. The eggplant is also distributed to the sub-tropical countries such as Spanyol. Because of the widespread, it has many names such eggplant, gardenegg, aubergine, melongene, eierplant, and eirefruch.

Eggplant is a favorite vegetable which is consumed by people. It is the family of tomato (Solanum lycopersicum) and potato (Solanum tuberosum). The eggplant grows well at the 1200 meter above the sea level. It has variation in color such as purple, green, light purple, or black and dark purple.

The eggplant has many nutrition such as energy, calcium, A and C vitamin like the tomato and potato. In fact, it has more calium level than those two around 217mg/100g, and lower natrium which is 3 mg/100g. The high level of calium and low level of natrium prevent the hypertension problem.

Moreover, it is good to consume it everyday because of its fiber content which is 2.5g/100g. The fiber will maintain the health of the digestion system. It has also the folate acid content for 19 mg/100g. I used to cook eggplant by frying it and eat it with rice and saucy sambal.
